Hello,
it's Sam from SB Creatives Photography here....
Last Thursday night, I had the immense privilege of photographing an extraordinary celebration of Yud Tes Kislev at Chabad Bondi. This historic day marks the release of the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, from imprisonment in Czarist Russia in 1798—an event that changed the course of Chassidic Judaism forever. With over 200 people gathered in unity, the evening was a testament to the enduring power of faith, learning, and community.
The atmosphere at Chabad Bondi was electric. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary gathering. Attendees of all ages filled the room, their faces alight with anticipation and joy. The hall was beautifully decorated, and the spirit of Yud Tes Kislev was palpable in every detail—from the heartfelt melodies to the warmth of the communal gathering.
Rabbi Moss, the main keynote speaker, delivered a stirring address that captured the essence of the Alter Rebbe’s teachings and the significance of this day. His words resonated deeply with the crowd, weaving a narrative of liberation, spiritual renewal, and the timeless relevance of Chassidic wisdom.
As a photographer, my role is to tell the story of an event through imagery—to freeze moments in time that reflect the essence of the occasion. Capturing Yud Tes Kislev was both an honour and a creative challenge. I wanted each shot to convey the depth of emotion, the connections between attendees, and the vibrant energy of the evening.
What struck me most about the evening was the sense of unity. Yud Tes Kislev is more than a commemoration; it’s an opportunity to reconnect with the teachings of the Alter Rebbe and with one another. Watching over 200 people come together to celebrate was a moving reminder of the strength of our community and the enduring legacy of Chassidic thought.
As the night unfolded, I couldn’t help but feel inspired by the significance of the event. Yud Tes Kislev represents freedom—not just in a physical sense but in the liberation of the soul through Torah and Chassidus. Being part of such a meaningful celebration reminded me of why I love what I do. Photography is my way of contributing to moments like these, ensuring they live on for years to come.
Thank you to Chabad Bondi for entrusting me with the opportunity to document this remarkable evening. It was a night filled with light, joy, and inspiration—a true celebration of the spirit of Yud Tes Kislev. To everyone who attended, your smiles and energy made this event unforgettable. I look forward to continuing to capture the beautiful moments that define our community.
Until Next time...
