Hello,
It's Sam from SB Creatives Photography here....
On the sixth night of Chanukah 2024, the vibrant community of Double Bay came together for a spectacular celebration, and I had the privilege of being the photographer for this unforgettable event. Hosted by Chabad Double Bay, the evening was filled with light, laughter, and an abundance of activities that brought the essence of Chanukah to life.
The centrepiece of the celebration was the awe-inspiring giant menorah, its warm glow illuminating the crowd as blessings and songs filled the air. This iconic symbol of Chanukah served as both a spiritual and visual highlight, creating a perfect backdrop for countless moments of joy and togetherness.
But the menorah was only the beginning. The event was a carnival of delights! KD Amusements provided a range of thrilling amusement rides and games that kept children and families entertained throughout the night. Everywhere you looked, there was energy and excitement, with laughter echoing from every corner.
Adding a sweet touch to the festivities was Däs Gelato, offering creamy scoops of indulgence that proved to be the perfect treat on a warm Sydney evening. Meanwhile, Cartoon Kingdom brought their artistic flair to the event, crafting personalised caricatures that guests could take home as unique mementoes of the night.
And, of course, what would a Chanukah celebration be without the famous gelt drop? Watching the gleaming chocolate coins cascade down and the children rushing to gather them was a heartwarming scene. The joy in their eyes perfectly captured the spirit of the festival – a time of miracles, community, and celebration.
As a photographer, my role was to document these precious moments – from the soft candlelight reflecting in a child’s eyes during the menorah lighting to the excitement of kids holding up their gelt, proud of their chocolate treasures. The colours, lights, and emotions of the evening made it a dream event to capture.
Events like this remind me why I love what I do. Being part of a celebration that brings people together and preserves their joy through photography is a privilege. Chabad Double Bay’s Chanukah party was a testament to the strength and vibrancy of our community, and I’m grateful to have been a part of it.
Here’s to more events that light up our lives – just like the candles of the menorah. Wishing everyone a bright and joyous rest of the festival!
Until Next Time...
